Tehillim 9:1 & 2
I give thanks to Adonai with all my heart,
I will tell about all your wonderful deeds,
I will be glad and exult in you
I will sing praise to your name, ‘Elyon.

 

What is Praise?

Praise is the act of making a positive statement to glorify, to speak well of.

 

Tehillim (Psalms 7:17)
I thank Adonai for his righteousness and sing praise to the name of Adonai ‘Elyon

What is Worship?

Worship means to bow in reverence, to honor and hold in the highest regard.

 

Tehillim 95:6 & 7
Come, let’s bow down and worship; let’s kneel before Adonai who made us, For he is our Elohim, and we are the people in his pasture, the sheep in his care.

 

Yochanan (John) 4:23 & 24
But the time is coming – indeed, it’s here now – when the true worshippers will worship the Father spiritually and truly, for these are the kind of people the father wants worshipping him. Yahweh is spirit; and worshippers must worship him spiritually and truly. Yahweh is our Elohim, our Creator; and he alone is worthy of our praise, worship, and devotion.

 

Many people think that singing songs in a congregation is praise and worship, but it is more than that. It is a condition of your heart. It is a willingness to exalt Yahweh and yield to His will. Worship is an expression of love and awe to Yahweh. Whether you express your worship by singing, playing music, dancing, or in some other way, remember that Yahweh is worthy of all our worship and devotion.

 

We, the congregants of First Tabernacle Fellowship believe in singing songs of praise and offering worship to Yahweh; for He is the one who gives us life. Praise and worship is more than coming together on the Sabbath; it is a lifestyle. So, when you come to visit and participate in our services expect to begin by offering adoration and blessings through song and prayer. There is a saying, that says, "if you worry why pray and if you pray why worry?" You can apply the same saying to praise and worship. Because when you have properly prepared yourself to come before Elohim and offer Him your praise and worship, you find it is impossible to focus on any troubles.
